The Mustard Seed Principle
Jesus taught that the Kingdom of God is like a mustard seed, which is small and seemingly insignificant, but when planted grows into a large tree (Matthew 13:31-32). In the same way, we are committed to sowing into people, communities and nations in ways that will bring the transforming reality of God's Kingdom, even if at first the returns seem small and slow, or the approach insignificant. It means "going slow to go fast". It means for example that we might prioritise things like building long-term relationships, developing capacity and leadership in indigenous people, sustainability, real heart transformation, building unity and partnership, and giving away rather than building our own thing. It means the integrity to do things God's way and for God's glory, so that we get to participate in God's result.
