Mission and priorities Our Mission To heal our world by practically helping and empowering disadvantaged people and their communities economically, socially, and spiritually to show God's love. Our Why? God weeps when people weep. Our Priorities To achieve our mission we seek to remain innovative and free of unnecessary institutional layers as we: Relieve poverty, sickness, disability, destitution, suffering, misfortune and helplessness. Offer children safety, love and a hopeful future. Promote education where this helps relieve poverty and distress. Focus on sustainable development. Fight for justice. Encourage and establishing faith communities to embrace the Kingdom activities of Jesus. Disciple young people through hands-on opportunities to join Christ in blessing the world. The Mustard Seed Principle Jesus taught the kingdom of God is like planting a mustard seed - the smallest of all seeds (Mark 4:30-32). Yet when planted this seemingly weak and insignificant seed becomes the largest of all trees providing shelter for birds. A small mustard seed carries the DNA of something big and significant, and when we see this and plant it we reap outcomes that matter. Activities which bring real transformation, justice and freedom can initially appear weak or insignificant because their connection to our own reputation and power is not clear. At Mustard Seed Global we desire to discern "seeds" which truly reflect the love and wisdom of God and will bring a real, lasting difference for those who weep and to plant them. The principle: Outcomes that matter come from identifying activities carrying the DNA of God's wisdom and love (even if they seem weak and insignificant) and doing them.
