Tuberculosis and Sorcery Douglas Koke's Story Douglas Koke was diagnosed with acute tuberculosis (TB) and put on medication for 6 months. He stopped taking medication because he believed his illness was the result of witchcraft or sorcery. Women thought to be witches are punished violently, not infrequently burned to death, in Papua New Guinea. The Mustard Seed Global mobile clinic found Douglas dying, and after educating him about the cause of his TB, recommenced his treatment. Our staff trained treatment partners for Douglas to administer his treatment and he has recovered. "Many people are dying silently in their homes because of fear, ignorance, lack of education, and non-availability of basic medical help." - Douglas Help save those dying silently in their homes and donate now Please select a donation amount (required) $10 Help provide medical supplies. $40 Supply a nurse's uniform. $100 Pay a nurse for 3 days in the field.
